Role Overview
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in recruiting, assessing, and supporting foster carers, ultimately improving outcomes for children and young people in care
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of foster carers, providing regular support and supervision
- Conduct high-quality fostering and SGO assessments
- Undertake annual reviews of fostering households
- Liaise with children’s social workers and attend relevant meetings
- Contribute to the team’s duty service for foster carer recruitment and support
- Participate in out-of-hours support on a rota basis
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised Social Care Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent)
- Registration with Social Work England
- Experience in social care, particularly in fostering, safeguarding, or children looked after
- Strong risk management and safeguarding skills
- Excellent report writing and record-keeping abilities
