Service Manager: Children with Disabilities (CwD)
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
As the Service Manager for the Children with Disabilities Service, you will:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the CwD Service, ensuring smooth, high-quality delivery in accordance with established best practices and professional standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Strategic Head of Service for Early Help, CwD, and Family Support to drive continuous service improvement based on performance analysis, risk assessments, and service demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide staff to deliver effective support to children, young people, and their families.
- Ensure team members maintain accurate and thorough records across relevant systems and databases.
- Lead recruitment, training, and assessment processes, providing ongoing support to prospective carers.
- Support the Head of Service in planning and developing services that address the needs of vulnerable children, young people, and their families, while identifying challenges and potential solutions.
- Manage budgets effectively to ensure cost-efficient service delivery.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and actively participate in relevant meetings, panels, and forums as required.
Working Approach
- Operate within a hybrid working model.
- Combine working from local hubs or the town hall campus with a flexible approach to remote work.
- Prioritise in-person interactions for team collaboration and all child and family meetings to ensure effective engagement.
Candidate Requirements
- Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- At least two years of experience as a social worker, particularly in children’s services, with involvement in assessments and statutory duties.
- Proven experience at a team management level or above.
